Hi! I’m Dana Mohl, PMHNP
I’m a Family Practice & Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner
Before specializing in psychiatry, I worked as a registered nurse and nurse practitioner in family medicine and urgent care. I treated acute and chronic medical conditions, including, diabetes, autoimmune disorders, heart disease, infections, and injuries. My training as a nurse instilled in me high standards for ethics, honesty, and integrity—values that continue to guide my practice today. Nurses are consistently ranked as the most trusted profession, and advocacy is at the heart of what we do. I believe in building strong relationships with patients, protecting their well-being, and ensuring their voices are heard.
My transition to hospital-based psychiatric care reinforced my belief in the mind-body connection. Seeing gaps in care as a consult-liaison provider, I pursued training in integrative psychiatry to offer evidence-informed care that treats the whole person.
My multicultural background also shapes the way I practice. Growing up in South India, I learned about Ayurveda, yoga, meditation, and holistic nutrition—traditions that later reinforced my belief in treating mental health beyond medication alone.
As someone who has navigated the challenges of balancing a demanding career with family responsibilities, I understand how deeply these factors impact mental well-being. I’m also a proud Marine Mom and supporting my son through this journey has given me anew appreciation for the emotional toll of military life on both service members and their families.
Outside of my practice, I love animals, reading, traveling, hiking, and being in nature—whether it’s by the beach, in the mountains, or watching the sunrise. I have a sweet tooth and love coffee. But most importantly, I’m a mom first—my two children are my greatest joys.
